The Simcoe North Electoral District spreads east-west across 1,894 square kilometers of the northern part of Simcoe County. It is situated roughly between Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay in Central Ontario.
The population of Simcoe North was 108,672 as of the 2011 census. The most recent estimate indicates that there are 86,208 eligible electors.
The major census subdivisions in Simcoe North include Orillia, Midland, Severn, Tiny, Tay, Ramara, Penetanguishene and Oro-Medonte. Only the northern part of Oro-Medonte lies in Simcoe North.
The adjacent electoral districts are Parry Sound-Muskoka to the north, Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes–Brock to the east, Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte to the south, and Simcoe-Grey to the south-west.
